Janine:- Can you give an example?

Mr. Jenkins:- We have already invested $1 billion to date, creating our art museum and carrying out various educational initiatives across the country.

A	I personally believe that industry would benefit from a multicultural and multinational environment if it is to succeed in this new era of globalization.
B	Well, the purchasing of bank stocks has been a major element in strategic vision.
C	We have moved from being a developing market to being an emerging market. That is in itself a great achievement, I should say.

James: - I have interviewed more than twenty candidates but none of them is good enough.

Michael: - Why don’t you put an ad in the newspaper instead of referring to previously collected CVs?

A	We do not need a new specialist. What we need is better software.
B	Is it? I’ll be glad if I can be of help in any way.
C	We certainly need a new specialist but we cannot afford one at the moment.
D	I don’t think he will be able to spare any time for interviews.
E	I thought you talked to some candidates and chose one.

Philip: - The temperature is higher than usual for this time of the year.

Philip: - Don’t be so harsh to me, Dora. We met only an hour ago and we don’t know much about each other. I’m just trying to break the ice.

Dora: - I don’t want to talk about the weather, though. Why don’t we talk about our hobbies and interests?

A	Yes, it is. Let’s go home, take our swimming stuff and go to the seaside.
B	We should have something more interesting than the weather to talk about.
C	I don’t think so. I’ve lived here for a long time and I’ve seen much hotter days.
D	We had better stay in until the sun starts to go down. I don’t want to get sunburnt again.
E	I always listen to the weather forecast before I leave home, although they are not always accurate.
